It’s New Music Friday, and Miley Cyrus is leading the charge with her brand-new song “It’s Not the End of the World.”The track is the second single from her upcoming album Something Beautiful, set to release on May 30, 2025.

This is Cyrus’s follow-up to her 2023 smash hit “Flowers,” which earned her a Grammy and still brings joy every time we think about it. In “It’s Not the End of the World,” Cyrus reflects on living in the moment and letting go of future worries. It’s an escapist anthem with dreamy 1970s-inspired beats and a driving bass line that underscores the song’s empowering message.

In the accompanying video, Cyrus performs in a warmly lit, stage-style room glowing with yellow lights. A drummer plays in the background as she jams out, fully immersed in the moment. The aesthetic is similar to her 2024 Grammy performance of “Flowers,” which marked a turning point in her career and showcased her artistic evolution.

Known initially for playing Hannah Montana, Cyrus began shedding that image in 2013 (IYKYK). Now, in this new era, she seems freer and more authentic than ever. She is creating music that feels deeply personal rather than manufactured. Something Beautiful, which includes “It’s Not the End of the World,” is expected to blend jazz, R&B, pop, and rock influences. The album draws inspiration from Pink Floyd’s The Wall, one of Cyrus’s personal favorites.

“My idea was to make The Wall, but with a better wardrobe, more glamour, and more pop culture,” Cyrus said. “It’s a concept album that’s an attempt to medicate a somewhat sick culture through music,” she continued.

Cyrus is on a mission to bring back feel-good music and make art that stays true to who she is. “It’s Not the End of the World” is streaming everywhere now, and her full album Something Beautiful drops May 30, 2025.
